CLUB FAQs

Monthly meetings:   Doors open at 9:30 a.m.  The address is 2101 SW Pine Island Rd., Cape Coral, FL 33991.  Refreshments are provided by Club members.  Please consider donating pastries, donuts, cookies, etc. for the refreshment table, they are greatly appreciated and enjoyed by all!

Dances.  The deadline for dance reservations AND payment is the Tuesday at noon before the dance so the caterer can prepare the menu.  Reservations can be made online on our website, by check at Farmer Joe’s, Lake Kennedy Center or Family Hardware.  You may also contact Judy Noe at (239) 699-0123.  You must provide your menu choice and with whom you wish to sit at the time of reservation.  Doors open at 5 p.m. for each dance.

Why are last-minute changes, additions, or cancellations a problem?  And why don’t you take walk-ins?

Changes affect the caterer, (he may not have the meal available you hoped for), the reservations team, the seating, the decorations committee, the refreshments team…everyone. Any changes or cancellations have a ripple effect throughout our preparations. Once we place our order with the caterer, we are obligated to pay for that many meals.

Refreshments at the dance:  Ice, water, soft drinks and coffee are provided by the Club, and available at the refreshments table.  Beer, wine, and alcohol is available for CASH/CREDIT purchase at the bar.  No one is allowed to bring in their own beer, wine, or alcohol to the dance.  This is extremely important as the German American Club will lose their license if anyone brings in their own alcoholic beverages and our club will be kicked out of the facility.  You may bring appetizer/snacks for your table if you so desire.

Activities:  Activities are available for sign up at the general meetings and are also listed in the monthly newsletter.  If you do not attend the general meeting, you may still sign up by contacting Cathy Fano via email or phone. Email notification reminders are sent for each activity.  We know that things happen and plans change, but it is extremely important that you contact Cathy Fano if you find that you are unable to attend.    Reservations are made with the restaurants and venues, and we want to be good stewards of their time and preparations.
